Welcome to the New Hotness!

…I mean, free services are great and all, but come on, that Blogger site was uuuuugleeee. This one is, I say humbly, fresh. WordPress and the designers who contribute themes to it have a place in my personal Heaven. ;)

Things you should know: One, there are categories now. The Uberman blog is here in its entirety (though it’ll take me a little while to categorize them all properly); and it’ll continue here, and when people are comfortable enough I’ll phase out the Blogger site. But other stuff will be here too. I have a lot that interests me — an annoying lot, at times — and this environment is much better suited to it than a) Blogger b) LJ c) IRC d) usenet e) dead trees f) 20 MB of collected files and g) at least six note-taking apparati. All of which I have now. If I can get rid of even one, I think I win. ;)

Things you can expect to see on this site, as I gradually pull them out of the aforementioned mess and get them properly posted, include but are not limited to: Polyphasic sleep (duh), alternative cheap do-it-yourself medical information, tips for curing awkwardness (another longtime project), musings on personhood/identity, ethics quarrels (me vs. me), IP law issues, pissed-off women’s issues, consumer griping, vaguely Eastern spiritualizing paired simultaneously with organized-religion-hating, attempted psychodeconstruction, possibly fiction & poetry (depending), and plenty of questionably-valid terms, all of which fall firmly under “artistic license”, you rigid shitbag.

Also, note the little boxen up top: Those are thumbnails; you can click them to change the background wallpaper on the site. I got the wallpapers through the free Propaganda collection available through Debian (I’m an Ubuntu user currently); I hate to say it but I can’t pick a favorite. I think they all look cool. ;)
