The Boomstick & Garlic Paradox
Okay. Line up and chant with me:
Boomstick? Not while sick!
Boomstick? Not while sick!
Heh. So, I slept from 10:30 - midnight last night out of sheer I’ve-been-sick exhaustion (I just couldn’t feel rested yesterday, no matter how many naps I took…I slipped in two extra during the day, and while it kept me going, I still felt like a jackhammered pancake).
So I figured, well, I’ll sleep from 3:30-5 then, and just have split my core. No biggie.
Except that by 1:00, I was literally staggering around, feeling weak and disoriented. BUT, trooper that I am, I had determined to do the Boomstick exercises yesterday, so I decided to give it a go. I left all the lights on, forewent the sleep mask, didn’t use a blanket and left my shoes on, figuring that would keep me from slipping too far asleep. The clock said 1:23 when I started to lay down (an easy time to remember, that).
I don’t even remember my head hitting the pillow. I can see from the position of the timer that I never even got as far as rolling over to grab it. OUT. Boom. Not the kind of “boom” we were looking for, but “boom” nonetheless!
I woke up at 4:30, feeling great. Oh well. Lessons learned: Boomstick exercises are not to be done while exhausted, or ill, or (I can extrapolate) during the adjustment period. Highly recommend them pre-polyphase and, if you miss that window, during the day after you’re adjusted. ;)
Actually I’m quite thrilled that that was all the “crash” I needed to recover from my recent illness. I was really worried about falling out for 8 hours at some point, or something, but nope, three did it. Yay!
…………
And something else strange. I have a skin tag in my left armpit that I’ve been meaning to get rid of using a Garlic Slab, but as it doesn’t hurt or really bother me, hadn’t gotten around to it. But this week I had left myself a mental note to get to that, before I slipped with the razor or something and regretted it. Well, in the midst of dragging my sick butt around, I neglected it again, and then yesterday I saw something odd — it had swollen a bit, and turned partially red, *just like they do* when one applies the Garlic Slab treatment. Weird! So I resolved that I’d better get around to actually applying the garlic asap, in case it was getting infected or something. Of course due to the nature of last night, I forgot again. This morning I checked in the shower and it was black. Eeeew. I contemplated what to do while I finished my shower — I could apply a Garlic Slab, but likely it would just fall off during the course of the day. Hmm. Anyway, got off to dry off and…it was gone!
The stupid thing swelled up, withered up and fell off, almost exactly as if I’d actually *done* the Garlic thing. Left no wound and no scar, just a spot of pink new skin. Poof!
…Is Garlic so powerful that all you have to do is think about it? ::boggles::
…………
Have a good day, if I don’t get back on for a bit. I’d like to, though; the crap to write about is piling up while work and school each eat one end of my life (and my daugher laughs while beating the hell out of the rest with a foam sword). Upcoming features should include The Validity of Clinton’s Plea and Collective Blanket Licensing FAQ, among about a thousand other things. ;)
Good days, all….-PD
