Yay proles, yay balance, yay books, yay dreams, boo snoozebar!

The Anti-DRM Video Contest winners are out…many of the videos are good, but I have to thoroughly recommend this one, which made me smile and then frown with no discernible time in-between. Yay timewarp media.

If you’re curious about the Tai Chi classes I’m taking now, there be a report over hyah, on the Blog For Me Hearties. The short version: It’s very involved and very cool. It made me sore in places that there are no polite metaphors for. ;)

I didn’t mention in the earlier post that I got woken up at 2:30 this morning (right in the middle of my core), and had to get up and walk around and go back to bed. The result of this was pretty much utter hashedness all morning. I slept like the effing dead at 9:00, and then overslept by 20 minutes too (wish I hadn’t, but my methods for not-oversleeping at home — I set a timer and throw it away from me, so that I have to go fish it off the floor when it goes off — don’t work so well in a car. And I was REALLY tired). Had the kind of mind-boggling dreams I miss from Uberman. I do get them on Everyman too, but only if I don’t oversleep so much as a pip. My problem with snoozebars often gets in the way of those ultra-involved, altered-consciousness, Narnia-like dreams. But I got to have one today, so there — incentive to fix the snoozebarring problem! (Yes, I have the Boomstick Exercises, and I’m pretty sure they’d work. They’re also quite annoying to do and hideously embarrassing, and it bears remembering that I have no privacy, ever. Working on a way to make myself do them regularly for a while, promise.)

EDIT: GASP! — I just got the most fantastic idea! I need a piece of fabric….I can tie my timer inside it, hobo-style, after I set it…Then, when it goes off, it’ll be easy to shut it off by mashing the buttons through the fabrick, but in order to re-set it I’ll have to undo the knots! BRILLIANT! (Any Guiness jokes and you die.)

EDIT AGAIN: A perfect nap. Wow, my 2:00 today (1:30-ish actually) was utterly perfect. I fell out like a light to a timer set for 21 minutes, and was just coming back to consciousness, had just begun to formulate the thoughts, “Oh, I’m asleep…and waking up…” when my alarm went off. Feel wonderful! Booyah!

I’ve been ignoring a LOT of cool things I should be posting links to here, in keeping with my Super Secret Overarching Goal of Enlightening The Whole Internet (a thoroughly self-defeating goal, unless I manage to Enlighten myself, about which I make no promises…but hey, that’s no more fscked up than most people’s goals).

Until I get back on the bandwagon (i.e. until work stops flogging me like a pyramid-builder), here’s a neat article on the future of the novel in the Internet age.

Loves! (Many and varied and wild and true…)
