Awesome Comfort Tea for Sick People

I have other suggestions for sick-people tea in this post, but this is a new one and has really made life worth living for me these last couple days:

* Chai (I’m using a Tazo teabag, but you could just as easily use anything else that’s good and spicy, chai-wise). Make it strong.

* Milk (because chai sucks without it)

* Honey (better for you than sugar, and keeps the milk from gunking up your sinuses)

* Cayenne pepper. About 1/16 tsp. (2 or 3 good pinches) per cup. Make sure you stir the tea before drinking, as the cayenne will gradually drift to the top.

Aaaah. Great on the throat, nice on the tastebuds, makes you feel warm, and cuts mucous like a machete made of kleenex. I’m in love.

(And not, for the first time in what feels like a million years, in bed. Slept another 11 hours yesterday. Today I will make sure to take my naps and try to cut night-time back to 4 hours. I have actually been waking up after 4 hours every night, but then feeling suspiciously sick and going back to bed to be on the safe side. Today I feel lots better.)
