Turns out she wasn’t Mexican at all…
Alrighty then, here, for anyone who’s always wanted to hear me babbling gleefully and out loud about polyphasic sleep — I give you my first (and probably only) radio appearance. It’s on reader ’stine’s morning show, called (appropriately, I think) “Wake Up!“, which seems like a cool show, though, it being in Canada, I don’t get to hear it much. She’s a very personable and capable interviewer, so any mistakes are almost certainly mine. I haven’t gotten up the guts to listen to the whole interview myself — you think hearing your own voice on voicemail is bad? — but I am rather impressed with myself for at least one thing…the interview was recorded about 5 a.m., and I sound so very awake! I mean, I was awake, but for days before we did this, I had nightmares (napmares?) about having involuntary yawning fits during the interview. Thankfully, I didn’t. ;)
Here’s the First Hour of the morning show – my interview is about 15 minutes in. (That’s an .mp3, so unless you’re running beefy hardware and want to stream it, you probably ought to right-click on it and save it to your hard drive first.)
Major thanks to ’stine for making something that could have been mighty terrifying into just a fun conversation!
…I’m going to go listen to the other episodes now. The one about being barefoot sounds nifty!
