		<description>One reason you see some of these positions is that some of them are not actually related to the pro-life debate, but are advocated by some of the same people.  This is the case with the one about &quot;opposing contraceptive and comprehensive sex education&quot;, and maybe some of the others.  

Many of these people are also firm believers in the rule of law.  That&#039;s why they believe that acting persuasively through existing structures (eg. lobbying, protesting) is better than committing even more murders.  

Many of these policies are formulated on a &quot;What battles can we win now, as part of a larger war against abortion&quot;.  That&#039;s where the following are relevant:
1. No legal consequences against the mother.  
2. Exceptions for rape and incest
3. Banning particular procedures

But thank you for reminding us to focus on the big picture.  

Hopefully I&#039;ve helped to make sense of some of the strangeness that surrounds the pro-life movement.</description>
